Born and raised in Corsicana, TX, Jason got his start in music on piano at the age four. When he arrived at the University of Texas A&M he picked up guitar by playing along to all his favorite Eagles songs. In 1990 Jason helped form the band Touch 'N Go and toured the Texas college circuit for the next four years playing a wide variety of covers ranging from country to classic rock to dance to the modern rock of the 90's. After graduating from Texas A&M with a degree in Communications, Jason wrote and recorded two independent albums in the mid-90's. (1994's Texas Avenues and 1995's Writing On The Wall). Both received heavy airplay in Texas and the Southwest. Until his move to Nashville in 1996, Jason toured with his band Jason Manning and Texas Avenues throughout Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona in support of the two LP's.
Soon after he arrived in Nashville, Jason was taken under the wing of legendary songwriter/producer/publisher Buzz Cason. He also performed in songwriter "rounds" and occasionally with artists including Yankee Grey, Don Galin, and others.
In 2005, Jason returned to Texas. In 2008, He co-founded the original project Manning-Dickson. In 2010 Manning-Dickson released the LP Drive which contained the singles "Cold As Her Heart" and ""Drive" . The two singles stayed on the Texas Music Charts for almost 2 consecutive years.
